I don't like the Home page. It is focused on what Vox wants me to do, not what I want to do. I want to Post, Edit, Manage my old posts, Manage my comments. I was hoping it would be kinda like what I get on Blogger or WordPress (although I don't really like the WordPress Home either). I think some kind of QuickPost from the Home would be nice...or maybe an entry field that pops you into the Compose page.
But what I don't really understand is Neighborhood. Who is in my neighborhood? Why are they in my neighborhood?
So its clear that VOX is all about getting me to create my Neighborhood. A simple add would be to make it clear why I want to add people to my Neighborhood. For example:
- they can access my 'friends & family' posts or my 'private' posts
- they can comment without signing in in the future
I found Collections very difficult to Grok. I clicked on Collections, then on the "learn more about collections", then I went to the Guide, and almost lost my post!! Luckily I found the little "recover" link! OK, I basically bailed out of Collections. It sounded intriguing but maybe I don't want to bother to figure it out until I have too many things to manage, like too many photos, etc. What I had wanted to do is integrate my Flickr sets into the blog. Doesn't seem to be a way to do it. Also Delicious links. But I guess that isn't a priority for the typical Vox user.
Also I'm kinda confused about how to put my photostream in the sidebar. Let me keep trying.
UPDATE: OK, after struggling a bit I went to Organize and just started to add individual items. I really love the Amazon feed that allows me to just grab some stuff. The YouTube one works ok but its hard unless you know exactly what you are looking for.
Now everything automatically shows up in my Sidebar. So that's cool! But why can't I grab an RSS feed from my Flickr photos? Maybe that's too advanced for the typical user who just wants to put some photos up. Anyway, adding the stuff was pretty easy. Why wasn't adding stuff to the Sidebar easier? Why couldn't that be in the "Home" page?

I like it. Its fun and fresh. It seems like it has potential.
I liked the initial post, that provided me with some grounding on what to do next. It should have said "this is a post" at the top of the post because that wasn't clear.
Wow, it was easy to authorize with Flickr and get access to my pictures! I guess if I used Photobucket it would be easy too. Cool I can add a book too.
So I wanted to try this out. I had some mo' when I was on blogger, but then when I migrated to wordpress I ran into a lot of problems and just stopped blogging!
So I wanted to try out vox. The problem with blog service providers is that it is a data prison!
